Andrew Don and I failed to find the King Eiders at Grimsby or Port Weller today, but we did succeed in finding three Black Vultures. Initially they were on the US side opposite the roundabout at a picnic area at the end of hwy 405. Eventually the Blacks and about 12 Turkey Vultures came across to our side and flew over our heads heading north.
At Queenston there were about 15 Little Gulls up from only 2 a week ago but we couldn't find the Black-headed Gull reported by the Buffalo hotline. White winged gulls were numerous there a week ago but only one glaucous was seen today. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
