Late this afternoon at around 6:15pm, my girlfriend, Nadia Noble, and I saw a
Eurasian Wigeon (originally found I believe by Richard Carr 2 days ago, and I
found out about it from Jeremy Hatt) in the field behind house #1433 on Rd E in
Leamington.

We then went to Hillman Marsh at about 7:30pm and counted 26 Greater
White-fronted Geese(up to 34 have been around for over a month, originally
found by Alan Wormington and/or Richard Carr) and 9 Snow Geese (7 white-morph
adults and 2 immature).

Directions:
To get to the Eurasian Wigeon, drive Southeast from Leamington, on Point Pelee
Drive, and turn left at the last intersection before the entrance gate of Point
Pelee. Travel only a few hundred metres on Rd E and stop before house #1433.
The past 3 days, the EUWI was among about 1000 dabbling ducks in a corn field
behind said house number. A scope is definitely required.

To get to Hillman Marsh CA from Rd E (previous directions), drive to the end of
Rd E, where you will be forced to turn left onto Mersea Rd 19. Follow Rd 19 to
a T intersection with Mersea Rd 1 and turn right. Follow Rd 1 to a dead with a
steel gate blocking access. This is an excellent spot to view Hillman Marsh,
where we saw both of these goose species, along with many ducks, Tundra Swans,
and Canada Geese. Often, the geese are scattered across the marsh and a scope
is also required here.
Feel free to email me if you have any questions. Good luck!
