Greetings from the Sunny South!

It's a beautiful day here in the park, and there are many smiling faces
this morning - which means only one thing, there are birds to be found.

The Tip was particularly good this morning, which many different species
of warbler. A probable Townsend's Warbler was seen and heard by several
observers this morning, though attempts to relocate it have not been
successful. Birders were thrilled to get both Blue-winged and
Golden-winged Warblers at the Tip, as well as several Hooded, Wilson's and
a Prairie, seen in reverse migration off the Tip. White-eyed, Red-eyed,
Blue-headed, Warbling and Philadelphia Vireo were all spotted this morning
as well. A lone Long-tailed Duck was spotted amongst all the other ducks
in the waters off the Tip. The Grasshopper Sparrow was again present in
the field just south of the solar panel at the Tip.

Both Baltimore and Orchard Oriole have arrived and Scarlet Tanagers are
also being seen. Red-headed Woodpeckers have also returned. Late
yesterday, the Henslow's Sparrow was seen again, as well as a Kentucky
Warbler and there was also a report of a Dickcissel from the West Beach.

There have been no sightings of the Painted Bunting at the feeders at
Pelee Wings today, though many people have stopped to look.

Daily reports from our hike leaders will start on Friday, May 3. For more

you out this year.
