Hi Everyone,
I just wanted to add some details concerning the Mississippi Kite seen at
Rondeau this morning. Blake Mann and I were the 2 people who saw it. At
exactly 7:00am, we were at the west side of the South Point Trail, where
the trail is washed out. We stopped to look out over the lake and the
adult kite flew directly in front of us, just above eye level at a distance
of about 10 metres. We watched it for 5 seconds, as it flew directly into
the fairly strong east wind. It disappeared behind the trees and, despite
a good search of the area east of there, we were unable to find it. It may
be worthwhile to keep an eye out to the east end of Lake Erie today and
tomorrow.
