There is an avocet just outside of the park. At the junction of Rose Beach Line and McKinley look towards the lake. There is a natural gas pumping station with some heavy equipment and the avocet has been standing at the waters edge for several hours.
Take exit 101 off the 401 and follow the road to 3rd stop sign. Rather than turning right to the park turn left and it is about 5 minutes down the road.
