The Ash-throated Flycatcher which was discovered yesterday morning on Lighthouse Crescent behind our old Cut Field Station was just re-found in the same location.
The bird was seen off and on yesterday almost always along Lighthouse Cres. It can be extremely elusive, often disappearing for long periods of time. When it is seen, it is almost always higher up in the pines feeding actively, moving quickly from one tree to another. To my knowledge, no one has obtained any photos of this bird yet. If someone does, could you send me a few images to include with the OBRC report? Our Old Cut Field Station is on Old Cut Blvd. which is the second last street on the left before Erie Blvd./Hwy 59 ends at Long Point P.P. There is no parking on Lighthouse Cres. so park in the parking lot across from our station on Old Cut Blvd. and walk through our property to get to Lighthouse Cres. If you see the bird, please let someone at our field station know so we can update to Ontbirds. Ron Ridout Bird Studies Canada P.O. Box 160 115 Front Rd.
