Hello all:

At noon yesterday (Sunday June 9) a group of us came upon a singing Dickcissel
at Luther Marsh. The bird was singing from a grove of trees (poplars and
Manitoba Maples) on the west side of Sideroad 21-22 East Luther, about 700m
south of the Hamlet of Monticello. The bird was also seen flying down into the
field and singing from the tops of the grass and small saplings just to the
north of the grove. It sang most of the time from about noon to 1 pm, and was
still singing when we left, though it did stop for 5 minutes at a time several
times.

The site is adjacent to Luther Marsh's Moniticello Cell, and very close to site
of the Scissor-tailed Flycatcher a couple of years ago.

Cheers,

Mike Cadman
