I photo'ed a Nelson's Sparrow at 10 am today along the marsh boardwalk at the H.R.Frink Centre, 10 km north of Belleville. The bird just popped up, and posed for a few photos,it did not respond to phishing, and I did not have it's call on tape. http://www.flickr.com/photos/94355719@N02/10247597305/in/photostream/ http://www.flickr.com/photos/94355719@N02/10247558526/in/photostream/ Savvy local birders may recognize this location on the boardwalk, the bird was 50 paces beyond the benches, to the right in the tall grass, near a lonely bare tree.http://www.flickr.com/photos/94355719@N02/10247574316/in/photostream/
Directions: Googlemaps this address : 381 Thrasher Road, Belleville, Ontario >From Hwy 401 in Belleville, go north on Hwy37/Cannifton Road for 9 km's, then >right on Thrasher Road for 2 km's. A small parking lot is on the right and the >boardwalk continues from there. Morning and evenings see few visitors, but on >sunday afternoons many families and dogwalkers use this boardwalk. Note: Belleville is directly south of Algonquin Park, where many Nelson's were seen this week, and might be at Presqui'le Park in similiar habitat.
