Hi there, Today, October 25th, at 2:30 PM, I observed a female Cassiar's Junco mingling with a small flock of Slate-colored Dark-eyed Juncos under my feeder in my backyard.
Though genetically-speaking this junco is a "mutt", it is a fascinating recognizable form and quite beautiful as well! I had to leave the house after roughly 15 minutes of observation. I hope it stays around for a few days. Please swing by if you're interested in seeing this bird. Photos available. Directions: I am located at 88 Stradwick Ave in Barrhaven, ON. From the 416, take exit 72 for Hunt Club Rd. From there, left onto Hunt Club then take your first right onto Cedarview. From Cedarview, turn left onto Jockvale then right onto Weybridge. Take your first left, which is Delmeade, then a left again onto Stradwick. Follow Stradwick around until you see # 88 (on your right). Cheers, Jon Ruddy _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
