Everyone else missed an excellent day Weather: A bit on the cold side, temp ranged from -4 to just above zero but the wind chill was -8 to -10 all day. Most of the marsh was frozen and there was snow on the ground and ice on the tower. Sunrise was beautiful and a lovely dark RL was the first bird of the day Raptor Observations: 13 species today and an amazing Golden Eagle visited the tower - literally! Thanks to the HBMO hawk banders for bringing over an immature GE for us to admire and release. Absolutely amazing!! Non-raptor Observations: Many birds decided today was a good day to get out of Ontario. See our daily posting on eBird under Holiday Beach Hawk Tower Predictions: On the cool side with SW winds and sunshine ======================================================================== Report submitted by Cindy Cartwright ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
