Ontbirders:

Brett Fried, Erika Hentsch, Janice Chard and I just had a Common Eider in the Niagara river at Fort Erie just north of the Peace Bridge across from "Rich's Marina". We were fairly certain when Brett first spotted the bird it was a Common, not a King Eider but the bird drifted further out into the river and the lighting conditions became worse. Just when we thought we might be left wondering, the bird took flight and flew up river past us for positive identification. Photos taken by Brett.

We also had Franklin's, and a Little Gull at this location

Cheers,
Barb Charlton
