Hi Ont-Birders,

Apologies for the late posting - yesterday I spotted a Snowy Owl on the
southern portion of Ottawa's Central Experimental Farm campus, along Fisher Ave
just north of Baseline Road. The individual was perched at the top of a
telephone pole just around dusk at 4:25pm and swooped down over an open field
flying to the east as I drove by. I expect this individual was headed to the
grove around the barn at the end of Ash Lane. It would be great to see it stick
around in this area for a few days but who knows...

Cheers,
Alex

Directions: Take exit 122 from the Queensway at Parkdale Ave in Ottawa. Travel
south on Parkdale and turn right at Carling Ave. Veer left shortly thereafter
to turn left (south) onto Fisher Ave. Then travel about 0.7 km to McCooey Lane,
a seasonal road that bisects the southern side of the Experimental Farm
property. The Snowy was spotted on the east side of Fisher near that point.

Subject: [Ontbirds] Snowy Owl - P.I.A.

There is a Snowy Owl in the northeast corner of Toronto's Pearson
International Airport. It is visible from Airport Road and it is in the
field north of the active east-west runway. It was sitting on a cement
block which was surrounded by tall grass.

Pearson Airport is located at the intersection of highways 401 and 427.
Airport Rd makes up the eastern boundary of the airport and can be accessed
directly from highway 409.
