Hello Birders Today, Wednesday Feb 26th, while leading a Riverwood Conservancy Bird Walk in South Mississauga, we found a female Snowy Owl at the Lakefront Promenade park. The bird was on the boat post at the Port Credit Yacht Club. 1- Snowy Owl video is on youtube http://youtu.be/8XsOVylfruM 2- Hooded Merganser is on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=UKvx9XOKylw 3-Golden-Crowned Kinglet video is on youtube https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ot8pKX7r_gw other Birds at the Promenade Park include... male & female Hooded Merganser ( see video), Redheads, White-winged Scoters, Common & Red-breasted Mergansers,many other diving and dabbling ducks. 1st and 2nd year Iceland ( Kumlien's) Gulls sitting on the ice Golden-crowned Kinglet, 2 Yellow-rumped Warblers are still at the East side of the Credit River mouth. A Northern Shrike was at the Credit River mouth ( Saddington Park). Directions : to reach Port Credit Yacht Club at the Lakefront Promenade Park, QEW to Cawthra, south to Lakeshore Rd. E., East to Lakefront Promenade (at the Tim Horton's) south to the park.
