A brief stop at Thickson Woods yesterday yielded my first Yellow-Rumped Warbler of the season, two lingering Dark-eyed Juncos, Chipping Sparrows galore in full song, and various other usual suspects--but my main reason for posting is to draw attention to the fact that the boardwalk bridges have significantly rotted over the winter and several of the boards are loose. My partner fell spectacularly, but fortunately was not badly injured. The Land Trust has been alerted, but it may take time to effect repairs. Meanwhile, please be careful.
Thickson Woods is at the south end of Thickson Ave. in Whitby.
