Terrie Smith and I did a mid-day run up to Carden. Cool windy conditions and 
the timing of the trip produced little song, but we did have some ... 
Loggerhead Shrikes at Wylie Rd (southeast of Box 10) and 200 meters north of 
corral at Cameron Ranch (one singing). Upland  Sandpipers at the latter spot as 
well.  Lots of thrashers, bluebirds and meadowlarks in full song and several 
snipe displaying. An American  Tree Sparrow was somewhat late.

Directions: A snowdrift still partially blocks Wylie Road at the cabin, but the 
road after that the way is clear albeit bumpy. See OFO's Carden Alvar Birding
