This morning I had a Black-billed Cuckoo just to the left of the entrance of the Bill Mason Centre.
eBird shows no reports of the species at all in this location, so I thought it was interesting to report. Lifer for me too, woo! Other species were Rose-breasted Grosbeak, a very friendly Wilson's Snipe, Common Yellowthroat, Swamp Sparrow, etc. Lots of mosquitos. Directions: the Bill Mason Centre is north-east of Ottawa. Take the March Road exit off the 417 highway, go north and turn right on Dunrobin Road. Follow Dunrobin Road to just north of the town of Dunrobin. The Bill Mason Centre is in the high school parking lot off to the right. There are locked gates where you can park and walk in.
