Hello Ontbirders! The previously reported Kentucky Warbler was singing his heart out this morning around 10am. Uncommon for a warbler, it actually say on a perch and sang for a while before moving to a new spot, allowing for great views and photos!
Another birder and I heard the Worm-eating Warbler, but had a lot of confusion because when we located the bird (way above us in a tree) and SAW that it was the bird making the song, we thought that it wasn't a Worm-eating Warbler at all, since it had a decent amount of yellow on it's belly. After consulting my good friend, Google Image Search, I have concluded that there can be some variation in the belly colour and I'm fairly confident that it was, in fact, a Worm-eating Warbler. Also present were beautifully singing Wood Thrushes (very active too!), Scarlet Tanager, and an Osprey at the viewing platform. Good birding! -Julia _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
