The Red-necked Grebes nesting at Bronte Harbour are having a wonderful nesting season with four chicks now hatched. Two eggs remain in the nest. The nest is looking rather precarious but is hanging in there. If you are interested there are some photos here: https://www.flickr.com/photos/gavin_edmondstone/
Directions: Exit the QEW at Bronte Road and go south to the lake. Turn left when Bronte Road ends at Ontario Street. Park near the playground equipment. The nest is just east of the restaurant/banquet hall. The area is also served by Oakville Transit routes 2 and 14 from the Bronte and Oakville GO stations respectively.
