Michael Didur found and photographed a Snowy Egret on the Conestogo River,
near the town of Conestogo just north of Waterloo on Saturday (30 August).
Ken Burrell reports that he just observed the bird in the same location,
but it was difficult to see from the bridge (lots of curves in the river).
He last saw it fly a short distance down river.

This is just the second record for Waterloo Region.

Directions: Take the Conestoga Parkway (Hwy 85) north to Northfield Drive.
Go east on Northfield Drive to University Ave E and turn right. Travel
about 1km and then turn left on Millenium Boulevard, then take another left
on Glasgow street to where a large bridge crosses the Conestogo River. The
coordinates are 43.538594,-80.505201

Good birding,

Mike Burrell
