Hi Birders,

On my way home from a work site today, I stopped at Conestogo Lake and
found a Hudsonian Godwit feeding and resting with a loosely assorted flock
of shorebirds. The bird was viewable with a scope from the intersection of
the 4th Line and Wellington Road 11. The bird was with a Greater Yellowlegs
and 4 Black-bellied Plovers.

Finding the godwit may take some patience. I'd recommend scanning with high
power; the bird blended in with the rocks and mud, as it seemed to be
resting a fair bit.

Directions: taking Hwy. 85 north from Elmira, turn right onto Wellington
Road 12. Take this about 5 minutes and turn left onto the 4th Line. Take
this to the very end, where it stops at the lake and Wellington Road 11.
Park safely and scan to the west, onto the islands.
