Weather:
There was full cloud cover and wind coming from the south, off the lake
throughout the day. The temperature stayed at 11C and visibility decreased
as the day wore on.

Raptor Observations:
A slow day, with one group of Turkey Vultures between 10 and 11am, 2
Sharp-shinned Hawks, a Red-tailed Hawk, a Northern Harrier. Just as the day
began to seem like a bore, a juvenile Golden Eagle floated up over the
treeline and glided, ever so calmly, along the beach. It took its time,
looking out over the water. As it approached the nest of the resident Bald
Eagles, one of the adults flew up to the Golden and they spent a couple
moments side by side. They ended up getting in a short tussle, with the
Golden Eagle flipping upside-down, talons out on both the birds. What a
sight!

Non-raptor Observations:
There was not too much passerine activity today, it mostly consisted of
starlings. A notable event was a group of 116 American Robins that all
arrived and landed in the trees along the road. The usual ducks were in the
marsh and on the lake were Red-breasted Mergansers, Horned Grebes, and
Bufflehead. See today's eBird list
