Weather:
Mostly clear skies today after yesterday's soggy, overcast conditions.
Temperatures were mild, again reaching up into the 50s during the
afternoon. The wind was moderate and mostly out of the west.
Raptor Observations:
Red-tailed Hawks were up and active, floating by in small groups of four,
five and six, occasionally gathering into larger kettles of a dozen birds
or more. Five more Golden Eagles made their presence felt as well. But it
was a tough flight line for the most part, with many birds crossing well to
our north.
Non-raptor Observations:
Great Black-backed Gull (1), Bonaparte's Gull (10+), Horned Grebe (20+),
Common Loon (4), Red-breasted Merganser (8), European Starling (500+),
American Crow (700+), Horned Lark (3), Pine Siskin (150+), American
Goldfinch (40+), Brown Creeper (2)
Predictions:
Mostly cloudy with moderate southeast wind and a 90 percent chance of rain.
