Today as I went to do the hawk watch at Cranberry, I saw a Cattle Egret in the
field on the east side of Hall's Road just south of Bayly. It as with hundreds
of Canada Geese, two Cackling Geese and a few gulls. It quickly flew to the
east and appeared to land at the back of the field. Others looking for it
couldn’t find it so I suspect it then flew to the fields north of Bayly and
east of Hall’s Road. An unidentified “small” egret was seen here yesterday that
likely was the same bird.

The hawk watch was a bust but lots of ducks and several sparrows amused me.

Hall’s Road is just east of Lakeridge Rd. off Bayly in west Whitby.
