A few visitors today.


Weather:
Windy from the WSW and W and the temp got to a high of zero. A mix of sun
and cloud to start the day but eventually clouding in completely.

Raptor Observations:
A total of 76 birds today with a few nice Golden Eagles (6) and another
small number of Roughlegs (5) along with Redtails (24) and Red-shoulders
(3)...a decent flight of N. Harriers (13) and Bald Eagles (6)...a few more
Coops (4) and a group of TVs (15).

Non-raptor Observations:
There was some good action in the treeline and bushes this morning
resulting in a fairly decent non-raptor list for this time of year.  The
highlights were Hermit Thrush, Eastern Bluebird, Rusty Blackbird,
Red-winged Blackbird, Flicker,Tree Sparrow, White-throated Sparrow (in
abundance!), Ruby-crowned Kinglet. Purple Finch and Yellow-rumped Warbler. 
In addition, many of "the usuals" were reported such as Goldfinch,
Chickadee, Cardinal, Junco, Robin, Bluejay,  Downy Woodpecker, Crow,
Mourning Dove, House Sparrow, Starling,Ring-billed abd Herring Gull, Canada
Geese, Mallards and Cedar Waxwing. 



Spotted by observers at Sharpie Alley were a flock of about 20 Bonaparte's
Gulls and several flocks of Tundra Swans headed for Long Point, totaling
about 175.
