Saw my first Northern Shrike this season. He was fighting to stay on a treetop
in the wind.
He was at the corner of Ashton Side Rd and McArton Road. You can get there
from Ottawa by travelling west on the 417 to 7 and go west on 7 until;Ashton
Side Road exit. Go north a few Kms to McArton and turn left. He was within
100ms of the corner
