Hello Ontario Birders: On behalf of the Ontario Birds editors - Chip Weseloh, Chris Risley and Glenn Coady, I'm pleased to announce that the April issue of Ontario Birds was mailed to OFO members yesterday.
It's a great issue with articles on: - The seasonal timing and abundance of Little Gulls at Point Pelee, Ontario - Avian window strikes at a Toronto office building, with regular opportunistic scavenging by American Crows (Corvus brachyrhynchos) - The Cave Swallow, *Petrochelidon fulva,* in Ontario, 1989-2014 - An early spring influx of Acadian Flycatchers (Empidonax virescens) into southern Ontario: April 2014 You will also find a pledge form for the Great Canadian Birdathon OFO Celebrity Birders. This year we have put together a team of eight young birders who will be accompanied by myself, Bill Gilmour and Ian Shanahan. Any money raised will be earmarked for OFO's Young Birder's program which provided birding and educational opportunities for Ontario's budding birders. To pledge online, please search for my name to find the team. Lastly, the issue includes the brochure and registration form for the annual convention which will be October 2-4 at Point Pelee. Please enjoy! If you are not already an OFO member, please consider joining so you can receive Ontario Birds and OFO News. Membership is only $35 per year and supports our activities such as ONTBirds, the OBRC, field trips all over Ontario and our annual convention. It's easy to join on our website at www.ofo.ca.
