This afternoon there were two adult Baird's Sandpipers in breeding plumage
in the sprinklers at Blenheim Lagoons. Baird's are a rare northbound migrant
in Ontario in spring. Also present were about 180 Dunlin in various stages
of molt to breeding plumage, 5 Lesser Yellowlegs, 6 Pectoral, 2 Least, and 2
Spotted Sandpipers, and many Killdeer.

Permit (free) required to enter lagoons. The quickest way to get one is to
email your request to Candy McGuigan, Customer Service Rep. at:

The lagoons are 1 km west of the town of Blenheim on Lagoon Road north off
