Hi birders, With the hot weather bird activity is limited, but there are still some nice pockets of warblers and other birds out there.
A White-eyed Vireo was heard on South Point Trail this morning. There was a Yellow-throated Vireo near the Black Oak Trail parking lot. At least 19 species of warblers have been seen today, including scattered sightings of Blue-winged, Northern Parula and Cape May. At the Blenheim Sewage Lagoons, 1 Baird's Sandpiper and 1 Wilson's Phalarope continue. Directions: Take exit 101 from Highway 401 and drive South 16 km on Chatham Kent Road 15. Turn right and follow the signs to the park. To reach the visitor centre from the park gate, travel 6 km South on Rondeau Road to Gardiner Ave., then follow it around the bend to the parking lot. I lead guided hikes in the park twice daily - contact the visitor centre for more information.
