Not much to report today, I'm afraid, just 4 Common Loons and 45 White-winged
Scoters.
Given weather expectations for tomorrow I think we will close down the official
part of the Whimbrel Watch for 2015 season. Thanks to Linda Wells and Tom Lane
who helped me search the skies in vain today and thanks again to all those who
participated in this years' watch and helped make it such a great success. I
make the Grand Total from May 18 to 28 3,461 birds. That's versus 2,047 in the
2014 season.
Good birding to you all:
Tim McCarthy
Now if you're like me you will suffer from Whimbrel Withdrawal, that seasonal
malady that makes us all dread the end of spring. Take heart, however, for the
Carden now beckons to us and I may see you also at the Hanlan's Point Plover
watch. And when the lawnmower has made its final run and the Cottage is closed
up we will be back together again at High Park.
Keep your eye on the sky.
Tim
