This morning at the Shirley's Bay dyke the habitat was very good for the coming 
shorebird migration and a number of marsh birds were seen and heard. 
American Bittern
Least Bittern
Marsh Wrens at least 6
Common Gallinules with young
Great Egrets. 10 roosting in a tree
Caspian Tern  2
Common Tern. 6
Sora. 1
Greater Yellowlegs. 1
A total of 52 species were seen including  a Black-billed Cuckoo and a few 
species of resident Warblers.
