Hi Everyone
The Little Egret continues to be a unpredictable early morning visitor to
Andrew Haydon Park and wasn’t observed this morning. Yesterday, July 10, it
arrived at 5:29am and departure at 5:49am.

A few of us checked other locations including Britannia Point/Pinecrest Creek,
the Ottawa River shoreline from Britannia to Shirley’s Bay, Moodie Drive Ponds,
Bruce Pit, Carp River and some of the wetland areas along Moodie Drive near
Hunt Club Road. It obviously has other locations to feed.
I’d recommend that if you are considering searching for the Little Egret, check
for it late afternoon as it has come into roost on Conroy Island at Deschenes
Rapids. It has been reported as early as 6:00pm and yesterday it was observed
flying in to Conroy Island at 7:40p.m. Vantage points for viewing Conroy
Island include Britannia Point and Britannia Pier. Arrive early. You can
view the lower rapids from Britannia Point at the end of Cassels Road or the
upper rapids from Britannia Pier which is located off Carling Ave at the end of
Greenview Road. Both locations give you a view of Conroy Island. If you have
any questions please email me privately.

Good birding,

Bruce
