Hi Everyone

It appears the routine of the Little Egret is an early morning visitor to
Andrew Haydon Park, arriving around 5:15 a.m. and departing after an hour or
so. If any out of town birders are contemplating coming up I’d recommend to be
at the site by 5:00 a.m. Evening observations have been few. Since the water
level along the Ottawa River has dropped starting on June 23 the frequency of
sightings has increased but there are no guarantees. Though the egret has been
in the area for a month now since the initial discovery by Ben Di Labio on June
2 along the Carp River at Carp, sightings have been infrequent but on June 24
it spent most of the day feeding at Andrew Haydon Park and then switched over
to Britannia Point. Since June 29 it has been seen daily early morning at
Andrew Haydon Park for an hour or so before flying southward and disappearing.
If you are considering trying for the egret on Friday or over the weekend, make
sure you arrive early to the park.

If you have any questions please email me privately. I’ll be at Andrew Haydon
Park at 5:00 a.m. tomorrow morning.

Good luck,

Bruce Di Labio and Michael Tate
