Weather:
Another scorcher out there today, with temperatures touching the upper 80s
in the afternoon. Clear skies to start but gray clouds began to roll our
way by late morning, bringing along a brief midday shower. Persistent haze
limited visibility once again. Calm wind picked up as the day progressed,
mostly gusting out of the southwest.

Raptor Observations:
Movement remained sparse for a second straight day. Not until early
afternoon was our first migrant tallied, a kestrel snatching dragonflies.
Another kestrel, two harriers and our first bald eagle of the season
followed in quick succession but that was all for the day.

Non-raptor Observations:
Killdeer (13), Lesser Yellowlegs (6), Cedar Waxwing (80+), Red-winged
Blackbird (30+), Common Grackle (5), Chimney Swift (6), Barn Swallow (20+),
Northern Rough-winged Swallow (40+), Bank Swallow (2), Tree Swallow (12),
Baltimore Oriole (5), Warbling Vireo (3), Northern Flicker (1), American
Goldfinch (25+), Gray Catbird (1), Mourning Dove (8), Ruby-throated
Hummingbird (6), Monarch (6)

Predictions:
Hot and humid again with partly cloudy skies, light and variable wind and a
60 percent chance of afternoon showers.
