Observation start time: 07:00:00
Observation end time: 12:00:00
Total observation time: 5 hours

Official Counter: Jim Dunn

Observers: Ches Caister, Tom Stewart

Visitors:
Mary Ramoter (GUELPH); John Prescott (GUELPH) and visitors from HOLLAND;
Plus many more but sorry I didn't get names.

Weather:
A very pleasant day to be out and about but not a great raptor count day.
The day started out cool at 13C and warmed to 23C by noon. The wind was
light and fickle, starting NE and shifting back and forth ENE and E.

Raptor Observations:
Sharp Shins were the predominant migrants (152) followed by Kestrels (45).
The counters observed 16 Broadwings very high and very far to the North.
The local Bald Eagles provided the visitors with a spectacular sight as the
two adults, flew directly over the observation knoll at treetop height then
dipped very low and proceeded across the field to the lake at the end of
the willows. All in perfect light conditions.

Non-raptor Observations:
Mary, our non raptor expert is taking a couple of days off and we certainly
miss her expertise and diligence

Non-raptors for the day included...2 Blackbellied Plovers, Pileated
Woodpecker, Belted Kingfisher, Common Loon, Philidelphia Vireo, Magnolia
Warbler, E. Bluebirds, White-throated Sparrow, 29 Monarchs through Hawk
Cliff today.
