The Hudsonian Godwit is still hanging around at the Everett Gravel Pit. Also present were 5 Greater Yellowlegs, 3 Black-bellied Plover, 2 White-rumped Sandpiper and a single Dunlin.
Waterfowl included Pied-billed Grebe, Green-winged Teal, Common and Hooded Merganser. To get there, go west on Highway 89 from Alliston. At the 4th concession turn right (north). Drive to the next intersection. Turn left (west) onto the 5th concession. The pit is on the right. The best viewing is from the top of the hill. There is just enough room to pull over on the right side of the road. Be careful because this is at the crest of the hill. _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists - the provincial birding organization.
