Hello,

Yes there was a grey morph Gyrfalcon seen briefly by a local couple at the
Vollmer Centre pond in Lasalle near Windsor on December 27. It was identified
at the time as a Peregrine Falcon due to its tricky plumage, but later
identified as a Gyrfalcon by Facebook users. It has not been seen again since.
It could be in the area but the only likely way of seeing it is finding it by
lucky chance as they are very nomadic hunters, not sticking in any one area for
very long unless there's a constant accessible food source.

I'm pretty sure it's against Ontbirds posting guidelines to post someone else's
sightings but I figure an exception can be made here since there was a specific
inquiry about it, and this find has been on CBC news in a number of media as
well as a number of Facebook pages.
