My wife and I saw a Gyrfalcon / Faucon gerfaut at 10:15 on Saturday, February
27, 2016 near the Lafleche Landfill in eastern Ontario.

The location can be reached by proceeding east from Casselman on Highway 417 to
Exit 58. From the exit, follow Highway 138 south towards Cornwall. The bird was
initially seen from the 138 hunting and killing a Herring Gull over the
expansive, snow-covered sod farm field immediately south of the 417 and west of
138.

The bird is probably drawn to the area by the Lafleche Landfill (no public
access) whose gates can be reached by proceeding south on 138 to the first
right (Lafleche Road), which ends at the dump.

I was able to obtain a photograph of the bird:

The upper side was a more uniform grey/brown.
