Hi,

I travelled to the Olympic Arena in Burlington to see the Tufted
Titmouse(mice) today. Apparently the RBG has decided to close off the area.
The trails now have dozens of trees cut down to block the trails and the
area is now posted with No Trespassing signs. I spoke with a very upset
elderly gentleman there who has walked his dogs in that area for forty plus
years. He told me there is now a $110 fine for trespassing on the RBG
property, and all his feeders have been removed(he has put seed there for
years). I am not sure of the reasoning behind this closure, but the
gentleman informed me his understanding is that the RBG is closing off the
"free" areas to drive people to the "pay per visit" parking lots.
I thought I should post this to warn others that might be travelling to the
area. If anyone has further information on the status of this location(and
possibly other RBG locations), it would be appreciated.
Hopefully, the birds that have become dependent upon the bird seed do not
perish before spring arrives.
