Good Morning, After yesterdays amazing day the birding at Point Pelee continues to be exciting with numerous new arrivals. Highlights this morning included a male Kirtland's Warbler along the West Beach Trail south of the mid-way tram stop. A Yellow-breasted Chat delighted many birders along Woodland Trail just south of bridge C. The Fish Crow was again heard and seen between the Sparrow Field and Tip. A Chuck-Will's-Widow was heard singing south of the Visitor Centre first thing this morning. A total of 26 species of warblers were reported from various sites in the park with many singing. Bird activity in the Tip area was good with a number of interesting sightings, including Northern Mockingbird, Cerulean Warbler, Golden-winged Warbler, Sedge Wren, and Red-headed Woodpecker. There are birds scattered throughout the Park in numbers, but not as many apparent as yesterday. Hikes in Tilden Woods and Woodland Trail have been productive. Reports from Dunes include Golden-winged Warbler and Hooded Warbler. A Sedge Wren was noted at the Tip and a Marsh Wren found in the Sparrow Field. We have had Clay-colored Sparrow found at the Tip and a Grasshopper Sparrow along West Beach Trail south of the halfway Tram Stop.
