We just found 14 American White Pelicans in the Point Pelee marsh in West Cranberry Pond. They flew with the cormorants after the sun set but might be back in the morning and should be identifiable from the Boardwalk Tower. Also two Red Knots flew by, and a few Great Black-backed Gulls which are rather uncommon in this area this summer. This one's for Alan: we love you buddy.
Point Pelee National Park is located at the end of Point Pelee Dr., southwest of Leamington in Essex County. There is a sign for The Boardwalk where canoes can be rented. West Cranberry Pond is in the northern central part of the marsh.
