Visitors:
Many visitors on the tower today, expecting a day like yesterday.
Unfortunately, no big Broad-winged movements were seen.
Weather:
The winds started out of the North as predicted, but instead of staying at
NE for the day they decided to spin all the way around to the South.
Raptor Observations:
Fairly slow day today, most of the birds counted came in the form of
Sharp-shinned Hawks, with small numbers of many other species.
Non-raptor Observations:
Early morning was bustling with Warblers hopping around the willows
surrounding the tower, and 16 species were identified. This included Palm,
N. Parula, and the first Orange-crowned of the season. Dabbling ducks
continue to be in good diversity, but fairly low numbers. For the full
eBird checklist, go to: http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S31598017 7
Black Saddlebags, 2 Green Darners, and 19 Monarchs were observed migrating.
Predictions:
They are calling for mostly clear skies tomorrow, with winds starting out
from the NE and switching to the SE.
