Many visitors for the last day of this years Hawk Festival! It was another
great festival this year, and we hope to see you again next year!
Weather:
Beautiful day for the last day of the Hawk Festival! Though the winds were
out of the S keeping the big movements away.

There were good numbers of Sharp-shinned Hawks, and many other species
recorded in lower numbers. There was one report of a Red-shouldered Hawk
from the park, but it was not observed at the tower.
Non-raptor Observations:
Blue Jay numbers have increased slightly, with 1662 birds observed
migrating over, and the first Ruddy Ducks of the season were out on the
marsh. For the full eBird checklist, go to
http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S31650819 There were 26 Black
Saddlebags, 6 Green Darners, 2 Twelve-spotted Skimmers, and 62 Monarchs
noted migrating past the tower.
Predictions:
Winds are supposed to start out in the NW and switch to the SW by noon,
with relatively clear skies.
