Weather: Sunny and hot with light winds from the N early but shifting round to the S and SSE. Temp to a high of 27 today and even higher with the humidex. Raptor Observations: Despite the not so perfect migration weather... (I know it was a beautiful day for everyone BUT a hawkwatcher!) the birds did move and the total for day was 1,102. The bulk of today's flight was Broadwings (1,087) along with a couple each of Osprey and N. Harriers, a lone Bald Eagle, Sharpies (6), A. Kestrels (3) and a single Merlin. Non-raptor Observations: None reported. Predictions: With a forecast of total blue skies and still quite warm on S winds I'm not expecting there to be much of a flight for tomorrow... though the Broadwings are obviosuly moving through but likely not as far down as the lakeshore. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Dave Brown ([email protected]) Hawk Cliff Hawkwatch information may be found at: http://www.ezlink.on.ca/~thebrowns/HawkCliff/index.htm _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
