Hi there, Posting these details here with the up-coming OFO trip to this location in mind. Today (30 September 2016) a group of us encountered 12 Nelson’s Sparrows during a walk along the shoreline of Westmeath Provincial Park. We encountered a group of 8 birds and then a group of 4 approximately 400 m NE of the first group. We also observed a juvenile American Golden-Plover foraging with Black-bellied Plovers and a juvenile Baird’s Sandpiper, too.

To access the park, park at the dead end of Sand Point Rd. off of County Rd. 12. From here, the park is accessed by walking east along the shoreline.
