Last week on Manitoulin island I had three interesting sightings, all within 15
km of Mindemoya.

1. A group of migrating sparrows, in the group were Chipping, Field, White
Crowned and Savannah sparrows. They seemed to be moving as a group. A small
flock of about 25 Rusty blackbirds showed up during this event.

2. Numerous American Pipits on an alvar about 15 km north of Mindemoya. Over
3 days I saw about 75.

3. Over a two day period saw two flocks totalling about 150 birds of Rusty
blackbirds actively feeding in pasture. This does not include the group in
item 1 above. On the second day a number of starlings joined the group.
