Several stayed for extended periods including two women from Lansing,MI, a couple from Chicago,IL, and two other men interested in birds and photography. Special thanks to Donny Moores, Rayfield and Donald Pye for their excellent company and help with spotting. Weather: Wonderful day. A bit cool in the morning but perfect wind and visibility Raptor Observations: 12 species in total including a few straggling BWs. Great looks at immature BEs, and a number of other birds that flew directly over the tower at low levels. There seemed to be no rhyme or reason to the constant flights today, other than they were all in a westerly direction. Some birds were sneaking down the shoreline, others coming right at the tower, and still others far to the north. We needed eyes in the back of our heads. Non-raptor Observations: Checklist of other species to be posted on ebird at a later date. Predictions: Another glorious day with more good winds and warmth. A good day to be thankful. ======================================================================== Report submitted by Cindy Cartwright ([email protected]) Holiday Beach Conservation Area information may be found at: http://hbmo.ca/ _______________________________________________ ONTBIRDS is presented by the Ontario Field Ornithologists (OFO) - the provincial birding organization.
