Weather: Skies were mostly clear, with light winds beginning NNE and gradually shifting to SE by the end of the day. Raptor Observations: It was a Turkey Vulture day! Kettles were constant, with an end total of 6773 birds. Red-tailed Hawks had a pretty strong showing with 111 birds total. A spattering of Bald Eagles, Northern Harriers, Sharp-shinned, Cooper's, Red-shouldered,and Broad-winged Hawks, and American Kestrels rounded out the day for an all-around great day of hawkwatching. Non-raptor Observations: Blue Jays continued to move through in large numbers - many thousands. A count was not kept due to their distance. Predictions: Tomorrow's weather conditions will be pleasant, with light winds from the south.
