Raptor Observations: Fairly slow day today, although we did get our first Northern Goshawk of the season! A nice young bird flying low over the tower around 1:30 local time. Non-raptor Observations: 9,720 Blue Jays today, 3,300 Red-winged Blackbirds, 34 Rusty Blackbirds all observed migrating over. There was also a fairly good finch movement, with 1,032 American Goldfinch, 76 House Finch, and 14 Purple Finch. http://ebird.org/ebird/view/checklist/S32039321 Two Monarchs and a single Black Saddlebag today as well.
