This morning around 1030 a.m. 3 Cattle Egrets were observed in the cattle pasture south of Malden Centre, Essex County, at #6862 Cty Rd 50.

At least two were still present at 1p.m. today.

This is the same location that one Cattle Egret has been reported at sporadically since Oct 25.

The pasture is within 100 metres of the marsh at Holiday Beach which explains the sighting of one of the three birds sitting on the"cormorant log" yesterday by Sean Jenniskens. A scope is necessary to get a good look at the birds that usually sit on the log - cormorants, gulls and herons. The log is visible to the east of the hawk tower.

I originally posted this report around 11:00 a.m. this morning from my phone. I'm not sure why it hasn't come through yet.
