Oct. 31 I observed 500+ Sandhill Cranes along Strongville Rd., South of HWY 26
between Concession Rd. 9 and Sideroad 18 & 19. They were scattered throughout
private farm fields visible from the road on either side. I arrived at 3 pm.
Just before 5pm an unexpected guest, an adult Bald Eagle showed up and most of
the flock flushed into the wetlands, and began returning to the fields by the
time I left. The Eagle had both legs banded - I have photographs. If anyone
knows if this is significant and who to report it to please email me.
